REACTING TO STRESS
In this day an age none of us can avoid situations that can put us under tremendous amount of stress. Although as Joyce Meyer shares below in an excerpt, we can refuse to let our circumstances dictate how we are going to react and feel.
Easier said than done. Usually my flesh wants to throw a fit when things do not go right. It is like, "I have a right to feel this way." When in fact, I have a right to "control" how I respond to any stress that comes into my life.
"When we approach a circumstance already stressed out, we’re setting ourselves up for misery before we begin. Instead, refuse to allow your circumstances to dictate how you’re going to feel. You may not be able to control the situation, but you can control how you respond to it. Take an offensive approach and decide beforehand what your attitude will be. Then the door will be opened for God to supernaturally help you through your choice to calm down and cheer up." - Joyce Meyer

ReplyDeleteSometimes easier said than done. None the less good advice.

Thanks for sharing dear (((JBR))).
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by..always appreciate it.
Check this out JBR, they gave me a hard time at work only to force me to work and pick up more hours when they were the ones who took away my hours in the first place. I'm working in a few hours and I dread goin there now. But I'm glad I came by and you reminded me to not be stressed out as the situation is the same. Instead, I should prepare how I would respond to whatever comes my way. I know He knows...that's why I try to give all my worries to Him. Thank GOD!!! Have a great weekend JBR! God bless.
ReplyDeleteIt takes practice to do what Joyce advises, but I believe we can all do it. :)
ReplyDeleteLove how God confirms things! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMost definitely, easier said than done and while it is good to remind us, sometimes even when I know it intellectually, my heart doesn't grasp the concept.
