WHEN YOU THINK YOU ARE THE MEAL!

I am in a blogging frenzy!

All these ideas are just running through my head and I do not have enough time to jot them all down, let alone remember them when I do want to jot them down. The ones that stick are the ones I share.

I know my spirit has been anxious, so I tend to blog more. It is like yapping away, except I am doing it by blogging.

When I saw the above picture, first thing came to mind was, “I am more powerful in Christ than I think.”

Here is an ice wolf (like the devil) ready to pounce on a poor innocent fluffy bunny. Our natural instinct (as I close my eyes) would be, “Poor bunny. Does not have a prayer in the world. An easy meal for the wolf.” NOT! The bunny was protected and the tables were turned! Even got a good meal out of the situation.

That is how we can be, if we let Christ into our hearts and guide us through our daily struggles in knee deep sludge of pain. We can be an easy target for the devil, but with Christ we can experience the mighty fortress!

  1. I wish I had the guts to save those pics as a screen saver at my job. I think a lot of people can relate.

  2. Satan is real, and his primary goal is to block God's work in our lives. The Bible says, "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8).

I don't know exactly how he might try to attack you; the devil can be very clever and he works in all sorts of ways. But as a general principle, the devil always tries to find out where we are weak, and then he will focus his attack on that particular area of our lives. If, for example, you have a problem with laziness or a lack of discipline, you can be certain that the devil will try to take advantage of that weakness.

How can you remain strong, even when Satan tries to turn you away from Christ? The first step is to stay close to God. The Bible says, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you" (James 4:7-8). Fill your mind with the truth of God's Word, and meet every temptation with prayer.

  10. JBR,
I love this! I think I felt a little more like the meal this week.

Funny thing, I kept saying the scripture, I can do all things through Christ who gives strength. I know God was telling me that greater is Christ in me than He that is in the world.
I made it through the week and I am feeling better today.

    Blessings,
    Tammy

  15. JBR,

Well stated, and love that you used this picture to highlight the example of putting our trust in God instead of dealing with worry and anxiety that comes when we trust ourselves instead of trusting God.

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  17. I feel like a bunny sometimes. But to the extreme. I feel so sorry for myself when the devil's picking on me, I just crawl into a hole and hope he'll go away. Wrong attitude, I know.

  19. Hey, JBR~

Thanks for stopping by. Today seems to be the day for rabbits! I have one in my post today too! Hmmm.....there must be some significance there!

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!"

Satan will try, but GOD WILL DENY!

  21. A powerful image of how our faithful Lord works for us! Keep writing and "yapping", it's the Holy Spirit, don't quench Him! I carry note paper around and jot down my thoughts in rough form to expand upon in my blog later. I'll even grab paper napkins when I'm at work, and jot down thoughts for blogging. My purse is full of napkins!! God Bless You JBR!
