My mum has to remain in the hospital. They found a lesion on one of her kidneys. Doing a CAT scan tonight.
Good News: She got her appetite back.
Monday June 20, 2011
My mum had a Echocardiogram this afternoon which showed that her heart muscle was strong. That is good. What the doctor's think that triggered this Atrial Fibrillation is the increase of one of her meds. Her water pill. That being said, they can fix it. Also was mentioned that she has protein in one of her kidneys.
But, the main concern is the loss of appetite she has been having for over three weeks now. I even had my suspicions what this could be. And when the doctor that saw her this morning, (who had a terrible bed-side manner) said to her, "your primary doctor will have to do more tests and look for cancer" that was more or less what I was thinking as well. That statement has scared her! Although the facts may state the above, I DO NOT HAVE TO CLAIM any of this! I believe in a miracle working God.
She will remain at least one more day in the hospital. May be released tomorrow. Again, thank you for your prayers of support.
Thank you all for your prayers!!
Called the paramedics around 8:00 p.m. last night. My mum first was taken to the ER where she spent the next six hours there getting her vitals stable. Then having her finally admitted to the hospital at 2:00 a.m. this morning. The diagnoses thus far is:
Atrial Fibrillation. Which is cardiac arthythmia. Abnormal heart beat. He b/p and heart rate was very high and erratic. She was off the charts last night. They injected her with a blood thinner (Coumadin). In her stomach. Works faster. Although this may be a procedure for her down the line she will have to do. Do not know. Will hopefully find out more when I go shortly to the hospital.
Sorry to hear this JBR. Best to you and your mum. Healing wishes....
