HAVE MERCY
"Mercy means knowing, eyes wide open, the current situation and choosing to have the heart of Christ toward that person in their state. We choose to see them beneath the surface and take into account that hurt people will hurt people." - Beth Moore
The above is a very good principal to keep in mind. I think as broken people, living in a broken world, we are very susceptible to hurting one another. Sure as we heal, are tendencies grow less. But as humans, we cannot escape our sinful nature and are always vulnerable. Whether intentional or not.

Oh God, help this be true of me today.
ReplyDeleteWhat an inspiring quote; when we are filled with His grace, it is so much easier to remove the scales of resentment and anger from our eyes, and allow us to see and treat others as God does!
ReplyDeleteBlessings sweet lady!
Denise
All of us (me included) need to learn to bestow mercy to others, especially those who are hurting.
ReplyDeleteThis was a good quote.
Blessings!
Amen JBR! Jesus told me I judge others because I felt judged and hurt! Even yesterday I was talking to Him about people and in my spirit He said, "I will not listen to your gossip!"
ReplyDeleteWe have to realize we all do things because we are hurting! But also remember to love each other deeply!
Blessings JBR!

Great quote, Grace. When we understand that everyone is wounded it's a lot easier to be merciful.
ReplyDeleteMercy is indeed something we should all strive for. It's true that those who are broken are more likely to strike out at others too. Mercy is a healing power.
ReplyDeleteSo true! We wound because we are wounded ourselves. Such a powerful thing to keep in mind.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
