When pressures mount because we walk
The path of truth and right,
We can rejoice to know that we
Are pleasing in God’s sight. —D. De Haan
O Lord, help us to turn aside
From words that spring from selfish pride,
For You would have Your children one
In praise and love for Your dear Son. —D. De Haan
Lord, by Your Spirit grant that we
In word and deed may honest be;
All falsehood we would cast aside,
From You, O Lord, we cannot hide. —D. De Haan
Unanswered prayers are answered still
As part of God’s great master plan;
They help to carry out His will
To demonstrate God’s love for man. —D. De Haan
Thank you for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear that your pastor is staying. I wonder how he felt about the whole process and why it was an issue in the first place.
ReplyDeleteYaYa, you are welcome.
ReplyDeleteOhSewGood, thank you for your comment. It was hard on him and his family, and basically hard on the whole body of Christ. In essence two church's were merged. And there will always be some that will not agree with "a new pastor" taking over and not be able to accept change easily. Even though the 'voting' process is now settled, the road ahead will be still a battle. The enemy will NOT quit, especially when he senses good things happening.
Great encouraging words JBR! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration sweetie.
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring tid bits. also want to comment on the outcome of your voting of yesterday. Was good to read in the paper that the results turned out positive. Mergers are not easy and they'll undoubtedly be other problems in the near future popping up trying to disrupt God's direction. There's [power in prayer! God Bless.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I shall take these thoughts with me to the hospital as I make my pastoral care visits to patients.
