THE VOTE IS IN

Thank you all again for your prayers and support!!!! (Regarding the post below this one)

Took three and a half hours for the special meeting required by the denominational church law after dissidents turned in nearly 400 petitions calling for my pastor to be removed. The meeting was closed to the public, only members of the church were allowed to vote.

The meeting took the place of the church's regular 11 a.m. worship service. Members of the Presbyterian Church in America, based in Atlanta, ran the meeting to ensure fairness.

I am happy to report that there were 1,383 votes, 422 of them were in favor of the removal of my pastor but 940 were in favor of him remaining!

Praise the Lord is all I can say!!

Long day......but well worth it to God Be The Glory!!

  7. I imagine you are quite relieved! Pastors cannot please everyone -- and I don't think they should try. That is not their mission. Good luck to you and your fellow church members.

  9. I guess God just had a different reason for keeping him there! So glad that this all worked for the very best in the end.

  10. How sad the church feels the need to tear itself apart, while the world watches. I am interested in the meanings of numbers in the Bible. Ironic that according to Strong's H422 means "to swear or curse." The number 9 means 'not yet complete" and the number 40 means "a period of testing or trial" (940). Just a little food for thought! Will be keeping your pastor in prayer.

  14. Thank you all! There will be still tough times ahead, I am afraid. But that is the nature of the business. The enemy will not give up and will even use what we may consider well meaning individuals to unfortunately do his work also to try and cause continual dissention.
