WORSHIP for WORRY

I have not been to church in close to two months.

Been a emotionally deep struggle for me. I plan on going tomorrow. It will not be easy!! Part of my "being out of sorts" this week.

I do want to go. I want to be in God's House. Worship with the body of Christ. Even though, that will be a slow process for me at this time. I am very uncertain and anxious:

Be not afraid or dismayed . . . for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15

If life sometimes seems to be a battle that causes you to feel upset and fearful, you’ll be glad to know you were not meant to fight the battle alone. The Bible says the battle is God’s.

God never loses a battle. And when you work with Him according to His plan, you won’t either.

During trying times, do you worry or worship? Praise and worship should not be limited to a few minutes in church. If you’re not worshipping at home on a regular basis you may feel like the victim instead of the victor.

But God’s Word clearly details the Holy Ghost anointed battle plan to combat every challenge you face. When you begin to substitute praise for petition and worship for worry, God will move on your behalf.

  1. last year it was really hard to go. every time required a ton of journaling, reminding myself of my choices...that i really could leave if it was too much. etc...i began to have some newer memories and things began to make sense. I guess I am just saying, be gentle with yourself.

    love, ang

  12. The hardest part is deciding to go. Once you decide, don't think about it. Think about nothing. Just go. Do it. Just be there. God does the rest.
Today at church I said that I could think of 250 reasons why I didn't want to be there, so I decided not to think about them. I was there, and God did his bit. Slowly His presence prevailed, and my arms inched up towards Him. After, I couldn't think of a single one of my 250 reasons (they went up to 257 at one stage).
    Blessings.

  14. I hope tomorrow is a time for you to be lifted up again. Last week was the first time I decided to go to church on my own (not a family trip for Easter or Christmas). Sometimes we forget how hard it is to take that first step.

  16. With an attitude of gratitude, I can worship just about anywhere, any time. But I DO go to mass, just because...

Keep Up The Good Work (KUTGW!)

  17. All too often I try to fight the battles alone.

I don't know why I sometimes find it so hard to give it to God.

My results alone should be proof that I need his help.

  18. If I remember right you used to attend church with your MOM. If you havent been to church for nearly two months for whatever reasons I am sure it wasnt easy to keep your MOM abay. Means while you didnt go you have prooven yourself on other ways. And maybe that is how it was/is supposed to be anyway? I am sure the God of your understanding is more understanding with you than you give him/her credit for.

  21. It is easy to abandon the church, but when we want to go it's easy too. Then it's ok again.

  22. Haven't been to a wedding or a funeral in a couple of years so there has been no reason to go to a building, but I do go to church daily.

  23. I also went through a time when I felt I grew very close to God and, during this time, did not regularly attend church. The old legalistic side of me guilted me constantly for not going regularly, like I was breaking a strict rule! I came to realize that in my more quiet and intimate times with God, He was doing lots of healing in me. Once I became a healthier person, I was able to choose a healthier church family.

  24. "God never loses a battle."

    AMEN!!

Praying for you to feel welcomed in God's House...that the One true love will be extended to you through His children...no fear, no uncertainity...just part of the body of Christ...

  26. This is so true. When I take my eyes off of my situation, and when I decide to just praise and thank God for Him being who He is in my life and just for the fact that He is almighty God, it puts everything in perspective for me.
