BROKEN PLACES

This quote says it all. Had me in tears as the words touched deeply my pain.

May these words touch you oh so very deeply as well.

"Somehow we have overlooked the fact this treasured called the heart can also be broken, has been broken, and now lies in pieces down under the surface. When it comes to habits we cannot quit or patterns we cannot stop, anger that flies out of nowhere, fears we cannot overcome, or weaknesses we hate to admit--much of what troubles us comes out of the broken places in our hearts crying out for relief.

Jesus speaks as if we are all brokenhearted. We would do well to trust His perspective on this."

  3. And Jesus comes in and unconditionally loves us smoothing over and repairing the broken pieces putting them together and making the broken heart better, form the learning, stronger, to care for others, and more beautiful than before to shine and show His glory to those that come across our path.

Blessings and hugs to you too, sweet JBR!

  7. Oh yes, this quote speaks to me too, JBR. Not very many people escape the pain of a broken heart and I'm so glad to have Jesus in my life. Would I have turned to Jesus if my heart was not so broken? I often ask myself this question. I always believed in Him but I wasn't always close to Him. I rely on him so much these days but when I was young I relied on my own strength (big mistake). Thankfully, he uses everything for our good! Hugs!!

  10. Interestingly enough I can see this in others but for some reason don't see this for myself. I'm not sure why but it is good to read this and hopefully relate it to myself.

  11. i haven't popped in to read your site in quite awhile. these past few weeks i have felt my heart break into pieces once again. yet there has not been enough time for this heart of mine to recover from previous injury.
when i woke up this saturday morning i greeted God with my usual "good morning Lord." immediately some thoughts just flooded into my heart/my mind.
coming from an abusive family situation and continuing to be drawn into the same types of relationships with men, i've been on a journey to be aware of this sabotaging of myself, almost a betrayal to janie, and continue this cycle.
in the meantime, across the years i have learned to play the victim role very well...a state of helplessness. i have said all of this to say that i have continued this mentality even in my relationship with God. by that i mean i have allowed satan's tactics to me in these very same areas that he knows so well that are my weaknesses. instead of believing that God has forgiven me, His power and blood are my strength i once again have taken on this helpless state of thinking which has kept me frozen.
does any of this make sense?
thank God He is restoring and renewing our life jbr. indeed it is a new day!
