WEATHER

October usually is the start for me where I find that certain types of weather can have an affect on me emotionally. Sets me back as a kid. Usually bringing me to a time of "a safe haven" outside, escaping the pain within.

Windy blustery days are the worst in stirring up certain memories. These past couple of days have just been that here in S. Florida.

  1. Oh I am so sorry to hear that. Are you talking about seasonal depression or during certain times is when those traumatic events happened for you. Don't feel compelled to answer, sometimes I can ask a lot of questions that don't need to be asked. I do hope you start to feel better JBR or just simply think of the swing.

  2. Hi Kay. No it is not seasonal depression. Just for some reason at this time of year, when it is overcast and windy, it takes me back to a certain period in my life. This too will pass. Thank you for inquiring. Blessings.

  5. JBR,
I can see how this could be a problem, JBR. People who suffered a lot as children can have a lot of bad memories subconsciously (however it's spelled) connected to various things and it makes sense that weather could be one of these "buttons". Holidays have this effect on a lot of people too. That you are aware of this will hopefully make it a bit easier to deal with. I am praying for you every day, my friend. May Jesus fill you with his peace and love.

You are very courageous, JBR, and I know you will overcome the past with God's grace. Sending you many, many, hugs! God bless!

  7. I pray that the Lord blows fresh breezes
of His comfort and peace over those wounded
    places,
windy kisses from heaven carving new grooves
    in your heart
and enabling you to feel the Love
of the One who watches over you
    with tender and fierce affection
    each time the winds blow.
May wind become a sign of His
blustery refusal to leave you alone
    and unprotected....of His huge desire
to heal and restore everything you've lost.
May you hear Him singing love songs to you
    as the breezes blow.
Peace and comfort and grace to you
    in your windblown places,
    Jennifer

  9. I'm the same way JBR. Something about the dark and drab weather, the power of the wind and the green around me turning to brown always affects my moods. Find your oasis inside! Make a daily escape. It really can help!!
