MY PROMISE LAND

Whatever struggles you may be experiencing today, God is there with you.

There have been many times, even recently in fact, that I wanted to just "throw in the towel." Give up. Tell Jesus to come today and take me Home! I had enough.

There is truth in that under pressure your true colors come out. Whatever is in abundance in your heart will spill forth. "...out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." Matthew 12:34

You will either "respond" or "react." You will either curse, get angry, bitter, hate, etc., or you will praise, love, respect, trust, etc.

My life had been full of reactions in the past. I did not know how to respond. Bringing an onslaught of illness, both emotionally and physically. Bringing on irrational fears that were not even mine. You cannot escape the physical and emotional trauma that reacting does. It will catch up to your mortal body. But, you can change it to responding. With fully trusting God and His Word. And that is where I am heading.

Although I remain in my valley. I have found a road now that is leading me more and more to the promise land. I am "responding" now.

As I look down this road, it seems endless in my eyes. Has many winding curves that are hidden. But, around that one curve may just be my promise land that is waiting for me today. It will come without a doubt! Amen!

  2. JBR we all have struggles and at times want to give up. All I see in your journey is the hand of God leading you. Despite your human frailty. Discouragement is all part of this life. But, he's got you in his bigger plan. You seem to know that. You're a fighter. That's why I continue to root for you. You go girl. You go! God Bless.

  3. I know the feeling of wanting to give up. Praising God for the hope and future that we have! Though the valley season and the path out of it may be difficult and draining, God will lead us to the land of Promise that He has for us! Praying that we have the faith of Joshua and Caleb when we get there!

  5. I was bummed out. Year after year.Out of all the fruit trees in our side yard, our cherry tree blossoms so much but with the unpredictable gusts of wind that occur many times, most of its flowers fall. My hubby walked in few months ago...holding just one fruit in his hand. This month we enjoy the abundance of plums & some nectarines. Still awaiting for apples & figs. I wonder why those thrived. Not the cherry tree. I noticed some of the branches were bent, deformed from those fruit abundant trees. And I had wondered...just maybe...their roots must go deeper than the roots of the cherry tree in that ground...

Your post strengthened me, inspired me as we both battle one known common gust of wind. We could be bent. Twisted. Even may break in some parts. But I pray JBR, by His grace that we are always able to stand those powerful winds as our roots go deeper into His ground of love. Your faith blessses mine. Enjoy your day. Focused on that road that leads to the top of the Mountain.

  6. ya know, sometimes I've not a clue what your talking about in some of your posts. I'm so far removed on the religion stuff. I remain very interested to learn. And I do. Seeing someone else struggle with life, puts my personnel struggles into perspective. Thanks

  12. I am in the stage of stress that brought onto me by others, and it's draining my energy! I'll have to learn another way to deal with it.

I'm glad you've found a way leading you out of the valley.

  15. Hello friend, My blog is Wildflowersandcountryroads.com and is currently on summer hiatus. However, today would be my mom's 93 birthday and I did post on my blog and came here as I was just on Beloved Bombers blog. Before I left, there, I saw your post header. As I read, scripture came to mind, one I have used in some of the worst times, "God does not give a spirit of fear, but of peace and love and sound mind." As I was in my Bible, the Lord also opened it to Psalms 46, the entire short chapter. I believe HE is telling me to share this with you also. You are in my prayers. Blessings.
