TRUST IS LOVE

"I used to think--if you had asked me even last year, what do you think is the greatest gift you could give God? I would say to love Him. Today, I would say to trust Him because I think trusting God is what love looks like. I can tell God I love Him but do I trust Him with my life? Like today, I'm 53 years old, gave my life to Christ when I was 12, and I could sit here tonight and tell you, I trust God now. I don't even need to know the plan. You don't need to tell me why we're going there but if that's where you're going, I'm coming with you." (Sheila Walsh-transcript)

For me, that is dying to self.

  1. Learning to trust God is one of our greatest struggles, yet also one of our deepest needs in order to have a meaningful relationship with Him.

  4. I think trust, love, and obedience are tied together. In scripture it says if you love Him, to obey His commands. You can't obey an instruction from someone you trust.

  5. Very well said, Grace. Only when we give up our own idea of how things should be and trust in God can we accept that he is in control.

  7. What an awesome quote Grace! :) When our hearts are breaking, when we feel overwhelmed or anxious, when we are lonely and our future seems uncertain, we must never take our eyes off the Lord...He is the only One who can really help and comfort us! Trust & hope is the assurance of the promise of God’s protection day and night. Amen sister!

    Bunches of love,
    Denise
