FUNKY DAY

For the most part today I was in some kind of funk.

Did not even attend church. Did not want to. There is some uneasiness stirring in my spirit. Not necessarily dealing with my journey, but with human nature and bickering. Hey, I would be the first to admit I hate any confrontation. In fact I do a bee-line if I even smell an argument stirring. Maybe I am just worn down and extra sensitive these days.

Also, I try and make an effort to at least venture outside. Did not do that either. Spent most of the day doing ‘reply blogging.’ Something I normally do not spend a whole lot of time at.

  1. We all have those kind of days sweetie, go with the flow. Things will get better, God is still on His throne. I love you.

  3. We all have our "funky days"... and there is nothing wrong with skipping church (in my opinion. I skipped today too- lol)

I say that today you treat yourself with extra love and care. Do what will make you feel a sense of warmth inside. Take on a couple therapeutic activities. Bring back one thing into your day that would make your day seem partially normal. The whole day doesn't have to be that way. And if all you can do is sit around on the couch, do that! I call those days "Couch days". Confrontation and arguments are without a doubt daunting subjects to face. I'm not sure how you usually deal with them... but sometimes dealing with them sooner rather than later helps get that burden off. Pray and ask God to be there in that conversation. He will be! Will be thinking of you today. Hang in there!!

  6. This will certainly pass. I know we all have been more sensative some days than others and can be more in tune with our surroundings. There is always something to learn and gain from every experience if one is open to the leading of the Holy Spirit!

  7. I've had so many of those days, - hiding, unable to face the world, afraid to face even myself - but amazingly it passes and then I'm ok again. You will be too. Praying for you. Sarah

  8. Every once in a while, I have an "Epiphany Moment" when something that I have been looking at for a long time is shown to me from a different angle, and something just...clicks. One of those moments for me came from my Psychiatrist. Now, my psychiatrist is NOT my Therapist, so mostly we talk medication and make adjustments as needed. That being said, one day he told me that he had been dealing with cancer for a while. He didn't have a perfect donor match, but somehow he is miraculously about 5 years past his expiration date. However, cancer takes it's toll, and in that, he told me that "it's OK to have a bad day once in a while." Talk about a slap-my-forehead moment. For some reason, when he said that, something clicked. It was OK to have a bad day, and in letting it be OK, I wasn't doomed to have it be the inevitable beginning of a bad week/month/year/life. God gives us life in daylong compartments. Let today be what it was knowing that tomorrow is a new gift.

    Peace and blessings.
