PURPOSE!!!!!

I know it is not being revealed "clearly" to me yet!!!!!!!!

Maybe because I am smack dab in the middle of the crap now and just don't see it, or I am not ready to see it!!!!!!!!

But, there has got to be a purpose to all of this pain!!!!!!!!!!

  3. JBR in our Tradition we are taught to offer our pain up for others, as our Lord did for us on the cross. God carry you during this time.

  4. When I had a neck injury from the hospital I used to work for 10 years, I didn't know what to do when the doctor told me to get out of Nursing. Looking back many years now, it was God Who had a purpose of bringing me to that correctional facility for His glory. It is frustrating not to know the purposes of events in our lives but may you find comfort in knowing that God is always in control. God bless you JBR! And may you have a great weekend.

  8. I know JBR it’s part of the process to your healing. Hang in there!

  9. Absolutely! Your purpose is THIS. What you are doing. Right now. Sharing, with us, what might seem to be random people on the internet, but in reality we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Sharing your pain might just be the thing that prevents someone else from having that pain. Sure, you'd rather not have the pain in the first place, but at least knowing that God uses your pain to heal others can give you light at the end of the dark tunnels.

  10. Well....pain is SURE something "real". In AA I have learned that when in excruciating mental pain--seek out someone else who is in pain, or turmoil of some kind, and help them. That can reduce our pain at least for the time we are working with others....

Lots of us are praying for you, girl!

  12. A work in progress. I like that, that's what I am, too. We are where we are, so God may be there also. I once was told that is the REAL purpose for each believer's life. Now so much what you do or where or etc. But wherever you are, you are there, so Christ will be, too. A light to the world in all circumstances.

You might enjoy my post from today.
    Blessings-

A few months back I was saying the same thing you have in this post. I have some idea of what you are going through. Sometimes the pain seems unending and unbearable, but you will come out the other side. Trust that.

We are all on our journey to regain our life back that was once stolen.

  16. JBR, just like tricia, I too was sitting in a heap not too long ago, screaming in agony and asking God what the purpose is of suffering so much pain in life! He has since revealed to me that all things are used for his glory. Although difficult to hear and to believe at the time, I can truly say that it is always the case. I pray for strength for you in your painful time.

Pain is only for a season. Through it all capture what God is showing you. Hold on to it. Go forward. Share with others who are right behind you in their journey.

I like what 2Thinks says, "A work in progress." I don't think God expects us to get it right the first time and every time. I believe he allows challenges and goodies to come into our lives and then notes how we deal with each one.

Sometimes, we over analyze the purpose. I don't believe God mixes in our lives in a way that literally takes away our freedom of choice.

I am so sorry that you are struggling right now. This is also a sensitive and passionate area for me.

  20. You feel pain for the same reason every one else feels pain...so you will recognize when it isn't there any more. *shrug* jut roll with it knowing you are not alone in your pain.

  21. There is a purpose. I know there is a purpose. He's preparing you. Through broken glass, the sun (Son) shines through more brilliantly. Sarah

  22. Yes, there is always a purpose - this morning I am asking the same question mainly because I am person that needs to learn patience (or so I've been told)

Keep asking...keep searching..keep moving forward while taking in all you can, and the purpose will show itself.

  23. There is a purpose hon. As a child you couldn't deal with the anguish and pain. Even though you're now an adult the memories can be just as intense. Try to remember you're older now, better equiped to handle what unfolds. Does it make it any less daunting and frightening, no. However facing these things, lends courage, frees you from the control they've had over you.
Time...time is of the essential here, dear friend. (Hugs)Indigo

Sorry your in so much pain emotionally I presume. I can just imagine as I went through something like this a while back. Some days are better than others. Some months are better than others and some years are better than others. I've noticed each time it does get better. There is hope.

  28. Never need the child of God fear the failure of the heavenly promise for the Lord is unto everlasting. He is. And was. And ever will be. And He is faithful! Faithful to the fulfilment of every good thing! Faithful to His eternal promise of the redemption, justification, sanctification, and glorification of His chosen people! Take heart and enjoy well the Sabbath rest bought us by Christ!

  29. Wow. I see today that I have 7 people following me; not 6. I investigate and find this amazing blog written by a kindred soul. If you read any of my postings, you'll see that I'm working through some of the very same questions.

I am so sorry to hear about your suffering. It truly breaks my heart. But here's a really cool promise from the Word:

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. - 1 Peter 5:10

I encourage you to read this promise in the context of the entire chapter of 1 Peter 5. It has given me much hope when there has been NO hope inside of me.

As I read your blog, I am wounded by your pain, but I see so clearly a purpose. In working through your pain on this blog, you are helping so many others deal with their pain in a safe place. Readers see they are not alone in their struggles. And here's something that I see from the outside that you may not see in the midst of your struggle: I see HOPE!

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. - 2 Timothy 1:7

You may not feel it, but I see STRENGTH in the midst of your weakness as I am in your blog. Know that you are being held in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, and know that His love for you is bigger than we can ever imagine as He wipes away your tears.

You also have brothers and sisters in Christ who are with you and praying for you...me included. I'm a hugger, so (((((((HUG)))))))!!!

May the Peace and Comfort of the Spirit gently descend upon you and cover you in warmth and love.

  31. Wow, thank you all very much again for taking the time to stop by and share from your heart. There are so many of you from so many different walks of life, but we all have that same common ground!! Thanks so much!!!

  32. OK, I realize that you have 184 followers compared to my 7 followers, but you don't have to rub it in. I feel threatened enough by you as it is....

(IMPORTANT...PLEASE READ!!! The previous sentences were a joke and only a joke. Humor plays a big role in my life and my healing, and it is a big part of who I am. I'll do my best to let you know when I'm joking. Fact is that I feel much agappiness about the audience you have acquired in 6 months of posting. God is doing big things in your life!!!)

  33. I don't have the slightest idea what the purpose of pain is or what God may have in mind. But I do know that, sometimes, the transformative power of a challenge lies in direct proportion to its difficulty.
