"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
The above is one of my favorite Bible verses. I am sure for some of you too.
To think that God has a positive plan for each one of our futures is unbelievable and hard to grasp at times. Obviously God sees things We Cannot about ourselves. Sort of like when we are in recovery, the good people that help us along, see things that we cannot. God sees our future, and people that have gone through the same or similar experiences of pain we have, know the glorious outcome to our future if we just hang on and trust.
I'd like to think of my life similar to myself, climbing a steep mountain. I can't see what's up ahead and I'm really tired and sometimes, feel like quitting...Little did I know, God is there just waiting for me and because He's on top, He sees everything that I'm going through. So, the whole time, He was whispering encouraging Words to me...so I can join Him when I overcome.
ReplyDeleteYes, a favorite verse of mine, too and thank you for posting and reminding us of living a life with a purpose. Thanks be to God! God bless you.
Maybe the future is always...now.
ReplyDeleteJust Be Real,I just got me a slew of new awards, and guess what ALL of them are yours!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have said it better myself. Jeremiah is one of my absolute favorite sections in the Bible. Love the verse you posted.
ReplyDeleteAmen, beautifully said dear one.
ReplyDeletelife wouldn't be very nice living if we didn't believe that...
ReplyDeleteI believe in God's plans, but this maze of being surrounded by walls of ambition, and disrespect for Humanity makes me despair sometimes. It suffocates me every single day and the only thing that holds me in this darkness is His Word. I believe that one day He'll get us out of here and take us to the light.
ReplyDeleteI doubt there is a "plan" in God's mind for everyone...rather that God will assist in making the best possible outcome happen to the plan you make for your own life as you live it.
ReplyDeleteGREAT SCRIPTURE VERSE!!! God Bless!
ReplyDeleteWe have an enemy bent on hating and thwarting those plans. Recovery is about recovering those plans and you and me and everyone else on here will do that by His power. In CR this verse is used often, it is a great promise.
ReplyDeleteI just love that verse!! :o) He is sooooo good and gracious! Just to know that He embraces us when we are at our worst should be enough to make our hearts smile. But sometimes that is very difficult. I'm just gonna Amen your post today! Hugs to you!!
ReplyDeleteAMEN! I, too love this verse. It has seen me through some difficult times. Bless you for sharing it again, today.
ReplyDeleteAndrea
I hear many people say the same things - "... hang on and trust." That seems like the impossible to me. It is a good verse, tho - I wrote it down.
ReplyDeleteI love this verse too but struggle deeply to trust in it.
ReplyDeleteWhen God changes the plans for our lives, do we act surprised, upset, bewildered, how do we re-act, respond?
ReplyDeleteAre we to be greatful, delighted in what the plan is NOW?
Thank you all for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely one of my faves - it brings real hope.
ReplyDeleteHello,
