"Yet a time is coming
and has now come when the true worshipers will worship
the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the
kind of worshipers the Father seeks." - John 4:23

Even though the congregation at my church last Sunday voted once again to keep my new pastor, it was inevitable that things will not be settled.....probably not for a long time. But, that is okay. God is cleaning house.

More 'well prominant' surprised resignations happened this week. (Along with a few others just walking away) I just pray these individuals who resigned truly heard from the Lord and did not go on emotions! So many rumors are flying around.

It really saddens me to see some of these people who were such a part of the church over twenty years..... go.

  1. May God have His way, and will my friend.

  2. *shrug* God is still God regardless.

  3. God cleans houses in order to advance his word.

  4. That is how "groups" are. People unite over common ground; they grow; they divide over differences. People like power and when that power is not "appreciated", some will leave, taking others with them and start a new group - or church. Yes, cleaning house is a good way to put it.

  5. It is highly likely that I would be in the crowd leaving. Aything this chaotic is not allowed in my life, especially not in the place I go to gratefully spend some time with the Lord, with a group gathered to worship Him. I'm sure you're hanging in for a reason and know you'll play a role in the healing process.

  6. Praying GOD's will be done in and through your congregation. May the entire fellowship be healed and restored....Blessings and prayers, andrea

  7. Until God is finished he will continue to clean. He wants his church body to sparkle. Sorry your experiencing such turmoil. God Bless.

  8. I visited a church a few years ago that was going through a similar situation. The division that was happening in the church was very sad to see. God doesn't cause confusion and division, I believe that man and pride causes that.

  9. Your post is bringing back memories when I went through the same sort of situation in my congretation. I don't know the facts of the discord in your congregation, but I do know the heartbreak. I've heard it said that Christianity has thrived for these centuries DESPITE the church. How true. I'm sending prayers for you, your pastor, and your congregation.... those leaving and those remaining.
