MY POOR little PIGGIES

And I am not talking about 'oinkers.'

You know... the corner of the table is there.....

Well, some how, some where your toes always seem to find it. They gravitate to that corner when you walk by and **smack** right into it. Then you have the brief two second interval waiting for the searing pain to reach your brain.

That’s it!!! That's the pain!!!

Fortunately my bed is still close enough as I fall back into it holding my foot with both hands, hoping to cut off the pain while I recover. Never happens!!!!

(We won't go into the words that come out of one's mouth at this time)

The above happened to me not once, but twice last night. You would think I learned the first time and the many other times in nights past to walk away from the corner. Somehow, I even want to find the fastest route to the bathroom in the dark.

I do not know how many times I have broken my toes over the years by running into objects, playing sports. Last night was no exception.

  2. Sarah, you make me laugh. I have done that too. In fact, today at work, had the cabinet door open above my desk. Walked away, came back, smack. It is just a 'smaking' kind of day for me I suppose....

  5. It must be age, I couldn't even walk straight. I bumped into a bench and have a 4in diameter bruise to show for on my thigh. :(

  6. I'm always fast forwarding somewhere. I tend to be just a little spastic anyway. My poor toes have been broken and buddy taped more than this old farm chick cares to admit. Take care of 'em and feel better.

    Have a wonderfully blessed day!!!

  7. I am with you on this. My bare toes get hurt at least once a month, and I'm always surprused when it happens, I'll never learn!

  8. Way back last June I hit my big toe so hard (I saw stars)that about 3 months later the toenail finally fell off. Since then I've been watching the slow growth of a new nail. I'm estimating that it may be back in by Christmas. What an ordeal!!!

Luckily, it does not sound as though you hit your toe "that" hard.

    Prayers,

  9. Oh man! One does not respect the power of the piggies until they are out of commission! Watch out for those corners!

  12. Such a strange phenomena isn't it? How our toes, heads, elbows always seem to find the corners of something. The other day I found a big bruise on my hip and was immediately thinking 'oh no what did I bump into this time?' That's me, always bumping in to things!! but then again.. I am blonde. lol
    mind your piggies :)
    xx

  13. all I can say is OUCH!.. Actually my daughter has this strange affliction TOO- and it always happens with the same big toe. She even had to go see a doctor for it, because before it could heal she banged it again twice (double2 ouch).. WHY I have no idea.
    MIND WHERE YOU WALK...
    Take care
