IT'S LIKE A RUSH

These past few days I have been trying to shake a migraine. One day is better than the other. The pain sometimes can really incapacitate you. During the holiday's I thought I was doing well with combating feelings of feeling empty and sad. But, I found myself just that.

During our times of pain, whether emotionally or physically, we have that opportunity of drawing closer to God even more.

In between conciseness on Christmas Day, as I slept part of the morning trying to shake this headache. I meditated on God's Word and also on the song by Kari Jobe "Revelation Song."

If there is one song, besides my all time favorite, "Breathe," "Revelation Song" (playing now on my Playlist) will whisk me into the presence of the Lord quicker than lightening! That song is so very anointed for me. The Spirit falls heavily upon me!! IT IS SO VERY POWERFUL!!!It is like a rush of all emotions at one time! Sometimes I have no control over my thinking and motor functions! That is the only way I can describe the presence of the Holy Spirit.

I have not been feeling His presence in my life for a while now. And to be able to have had Him come so quickly through a song is such unbelievably refreshing!!!!! I never wanted to leave His presence. He has never left me. Even when I have turned my back on Him in recent days.

I had the song playing on a continuously loop, so I could be in His presence without interruption. Eventually, I had to give myself a break, as much as I wanted to remain at this wonderful "high" I needed to "come down" from it also!

Whew!

This will be one song I will learn to play on the guitar!!

  1. We sing this song at church all the time. I agree, it's so anointed. I'm buying this today and listening to it all week at work. It's beautiful. You have the perfect antidote for chasing out all the negative stuff that can fill a day. Be blessed.

  2. With the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, our bodies become literally, the Temple of God. We are now separated, from this world, because God has taken residence with us, we are restored to God. We are the purchased possession of Christ, whose blood paid for our sins.

  3. That is great Mads. I have to turn down the volume when I go on my blog, as once I hear the song it sets me off if I am not ready for it. :)

    Anonymous, thank you for sharing.

  5. JBR I can totally relate. When I'm slain in the spirit and yielding myself to the Holy Spirit, it feels like I'm floating in the love of God. Peacefulness and tranquillity fills me and surrounds me. I don't think much about anything at the moment. Just in his presence. God Bless.

  6. Even when we don't "feel" him present, I am so thankful to "know" that he is!!

I know the pain of migraines too!! I woke up on Christmas Eve with one. The change in weather can bring on on for me!!

I hope you are feeling better!!

  8. The holy spirit sometimes blows like a sudden wind through my soul - so quickly I am caught up in the surprise of it. What beautiful moments they are.

  9. I like how Prayer Girl put it: the wind of the Holy Spirit blows through my soul. God knows we need refreshing in this troubled world, with our troubled minds. Things of the Spirit do that work. May you be richly blessed today.

  10. I remember the first time I physically felt the Holy Spirit within me, and it was just has you describe. I know at that moment I felt loved like I had never felt it before; as if God's arms were tightly around me!
I also can relate to your migraines; unfortunately enough I also suffer from these debilitating headaches. Although my doctor says they are hormonal, I see them as God telling me, "hey, I'm here for you, reach out to me"
I guess some of us need hard lessons and the Lord is surely to supply them :) if need be.
I really enjoy reading your blog; it is very uplifting! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences.
May the Lord bless you and yours, and keep you near,
    with love,
    Julian :)

  13. Hoping that you have your migraine under control. Sometimes mood swings can be a harbinger of a headache, since a migraine can be like a cascade of misfiring neurons effecting many parts of your brain.
Holidays seem to be a season of headaches, but am glad that God was able to give you some joy and refreshment through song.

  14. My daughter suffered with migraines so bad during college, she had to quit. She was in a college out of state. I never felt so helpless in my life! I would fall to the floor and cry and cry. God, help my girl! I feel so sad for you, to go through this. And you rest in God's presence in the midst of your pain? You are so special and loved, I hope you know that!

  15. the majority of migraines for females are caused by fluctuating hormones. If you can, try Imitrex,...it totally stops/cancels a migraine for me and changed my life in a very positive way...with no side effects...it's not a narcotic nor a pain killer.

  16. Hi,

    I know my girlfriend suffers
from migranes, and as her love,
it hurts me sometimes to see
    how immediately these giant headaches
    afflict her life.

    I appreciate the spirituality of
your blog, and I have decided to
follow you. I have an art blog,
and I also hold true a spiritual
belief system, I however, am shy with
    many expressive of words.

    Happy holidays...

    Jesse
