AS I WENT...

The Lord certainly was with me yesterday morning. As much as I was nervous and hesitant in not knowing what to expect, God showed up! (SEE HERE IN ORIGINAL POST LEADING UP TO THIS ONE.)

Separately, I shared with the three individuals from work of what I thought was just discipline from my mother was in fact physical abuse while growing up (SEE HERE FOR ORIGINAL POST). All three were very compassionate, attentive and let me speak. I was in control. I told only what I wanted to. I controlled the shots. Even to the point saying and being stern to one of them, "do not rush me, if you want to hear then let us sit down, and please do not repeat this to anyone else." I felt at least they deserved to hear the latest, as they have been supportive of me from day one when I first entered into t.

Naturally, and it is only human nature, I then received advice from taking meds while I handle my latest crisis to I need to aggressively confront my abuser(s) right away including my brother who sexually abused me. I thanked them for their advice and said I would discuss with my t.

But, all in all, it was smooth sailing. I trusted in the Lord for the outcome, He relaxed me and let everything fall into place.

Thank you ALL for your prayers! Could not have done it without being lifted up!

  5. I guess if we go forth in prayer that we be shown what to do and given the words we need, God takes care of us. Thanks, JBR.

  8. HI-

I am happy for you that you were able to set the boundaries and confront your co-workers. I am going to implore you though to please separate work from your healing journey - it is VERY dangerous to share such things with co-workers. I understand the need and I also know the potential for harm to you. I understand and remember wanting/needing validation along my journey - that others would understand and oddly, be proud of me for my hard work. And I needed that and so do you but NOT from your co-workers, please. I have said enough.

    Love to you

  10. JBR:
You're going to get lots of well intended advice. Weigh it all, before the Lord, and see what He has to say about any of it. The great thing is, He already has the answers to everything you are dealing with, so, like my mom used to say..."for every look around you, the last look should be to Jesus".

    Hugs!

  15. I am so grateful that the Lord was with you on this day, and it sounds like you were able to stand your ground when you needed to. One of my favorite therapist years ago suggested that I confront my father, to which I replied to her that he was too old, bi-polar and would not receive what I had to say. I now have a once a week conversation with him which goes well, and am moving more towards compassion with him even though at times he gets on my very last nerve; esp. when I find out he is continuing his rage on my ailing mother who can barely get around to fix him a hot dinner at night while he sits in "his chair," always wanting all the attention to be on him. Yea, I definitely was pissed off at him of learning this from my sisters a couple of weeks ago. It's just hard isn't it? There's no denying that. Thanks be to God He is there with us and we have such wonderful support systems and people who "really get us."
