"Yet a time is coming
and has now come when the true worshipers will worship
the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the
kind of worshipers the Father seeks." - John 4:23

My Heavenly Daddy is healing
me from the inside out.

Transparency is Real.
Many times painful.

While reading a devotional recently, I was reminded that it is not everything-and-everybody-except-me that is wonderfully made. It is everything-and-everybody-including-me that is fearfully and wonderfully made by God.

But, that is where the struggle for many of us begins. When we were brought up in an environment of abuse; feeling worthless than what we should be and made to feel, can have a everlasting negative effect on our belief system.

We need to counteract those negative thoughts and begin to change the "this is our belief" to "that was our belief." It is a daily process. Something that does not come natural to me. A long and very hard struggle. My tendencies is to go right to the negative, that I am no good, that I am a a failure, yada yada. It is not easy! And may take many years to change! But, I know I need my mindset to change in order to heal and to be set free from the curse of unworthiness.

I have to constantly remind myself that I am, as well as you, one of God's wonderful works. We are precious to Him and we are very unique.

He made everything, our minds, our emotions, our needs, our bodies, our creativity, our longings, and our hopes.

And "hope" is what I am hanging on to!

  1. Perfectly written. An awareness like the one written in this post is the beginning of a changed life. God is able to repair, restore, renew and turn the shattered foundation you walk on into a beautiful glittery path. Love it!

    Great post JBR!

  3. JBR your words continue to minister and I see you slowly healing. Keep it up. God Bless.

  4. Granbbing the negative is much more immediate and does not need explaining. Taking the positive outlook frequently requires convincing debate.

  5. To not fall back into the old ways of thinking, relating, believing, especially with an enemy that wants us to is a daily battle.

Hope, yes, that God is at work changing our thoughts, patterns, beliefs.

  6. I love your honest wisdom.

  7. AMEN...we are ALL wonderfully made.
    Hugs, andrea

PS: Sitka has an award for you at All Gods Creatures.

  8. Obviously the negative comes so very easy to you/us as we are using this system for so many years. While it is destructive it is for sure easier executed. It takes much more courage to face this challenge of changing. it takes much more daily, hourly work to get aware, ponder about a situation, readjust the thoughts, (re)-actions and dont beat ourselves up for it. Yes, it will take years with many tiny tiny steps which turn in mayor milestones as you walk your path of recovery. Love to you.
P.S. You are right Tampa is quite chilling and I didnt bring enough warm clothing. Haha, need a fur-covered bathing suit :-)))

  9. Amen! All, everything, whosoever, are 'inclusive' words, not exclusive. It does me YOU and it does mean ME. Praise God for that!

  10. thank you for the reminder...

  11. That's what's awesome with Him. He changes us from the inside out. He removes the negatives and turn them into good. That is...if we continue to seek Him and love Him. Great post. God bless.

  12. Yes, you are precious!
We are all precious in God's eyes!

Thanks JBR for the great post!
    Have a wonderful day!

  13. "It is everything-and-everybody-including-me that is fearfully and wonderfully made by God."

Wonderful - and wonderful post. Thank you.

  14. Thank your for this wonderful and inspiring message. It is not easy. So true. Hugs.

  15. Great post! I struggled with this for most of my life. It still catches me off-guard at times but I try to catch it before it goes to far.

  16. Not so uncommon JBR, it's always a process. We are all so aware of our limited natural self, and we tend to think on that, rather than more quickly get to who REALLY is responsible for change, change that lasts and is life changing. It's all Him, that's for sure. You are a courageous gal and I love you for it. Keep going!

  17. One of the therapists at the treatment center would always say that we all inherently have worth that is given to us at birth. The trick is remembering it.

    Wishing you well,

  18. I know you must be getting weary with all of my posting, but I can't seem to stop reading your blogs! There goes my negative mind set....
As a matter of fact, just in the last week that area has been a horrendous battle in my mind. I am so aware that God is a Healing God, and that I'm in the process of healing in my mind and in my emotions, but I have not even been able to blog from fear that I might come off as being negative-sending off negative vibes etc. The blogs I follow are so wonderful, but I leave feeling, "Am I the only one who has this struggle?" No, I am not. This has been confirmed to me even more this early Monday morning and I am encouraged that I can speak how "Janie" is really feeling. Now I'm feeling guilty that I'm using this comment post for my own selfish venting..:) I am very grateful for your post. Thanks be to God I stumbled upon it. Janie
