WORSHIP CHANGES WHO WE ARE

In preparation for tomorrow's Sonday worship and between playing my guitar unto the Lord and worshiping in the Spirit and changing my blog design a zillion times today, (I believe I have found the Holy Spirit Fire template) I came across a short article on the internet entitled:

Worship changes who we are

When we worship, the Holy Spirit, which resides in each child of God, can go to work and change us. The act of worship gives our spirit a chance to commune with God. No one remains the same after spending time with God.

Little by little, the Holy Spirit asks the Lord for the exact right thing that we truly need, even when we are not aware of what that might be.
It may be realizing that we are not first, and it is not about us. It is and always has been about our Lord Jesus Christ. We worship him because of what He has done for us. He gives us the gift of forgiveness so that we don't have to live continually in sin and guilt.

  3. "God knows people's hearts, and he confirmed that he accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us."

    — Acts 15:8 nlt

    Thought

These words come from Peter's defense of taking the good news of Jesus to Gentiles -- Cornelius and his household (Acts 10:1-48). From the moment that the Holy Spirit came upon Cornelius and the other believers in his household, Peter and his companions were convicted that God had shown he approved of their conversion (Acts 10:44-48; 11:15-18). The Holy Spirit is God's way of showing that we are part of his family (Rom. 8:9). The unity, the bond, the family tie that we share is precious and to be rigorously protected (Eph. 4:3). The Spirit is our assurance that we belong to God and are family with each other!

    Prayer

O Father, tear down the walls that keep your children apart. Thank you for confirming that I am your child through the presence of the Holy Spirit within me. May I deeply value each of your children, my brothers and sisters, for whom Christ died and in whom the Holy Spirit lives. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Super post JBR. If I may add, worship brings an upward look, a glance at God on His throne in all His glory. It refocuses our view of God. It pulls our affections off our idols and puts them onto God. It causes us to remember how good He is, how big, kind, powerful, and loving He is, and how holy He is. God Bless.

Quick story. I was having problems one day and seeking the the holy spirit. Upon letting go of my fear, there was a bolt of energy, which began at my toes and rifled upward throughout my body. It exploded out the top of my head like a bolt of lighting. As this "energy" traveled upward it was like every cell in my body was energized. The best I can explain it was like the pins and needles one gets, but this was far from being uncomfortable. The experience lasted probably only a second or two, but after it left my body I was left with this euphoria. Almost feeling like I was floating.

  17. Hey Lady,

I am going to give you another hug (((J.B.R.))) You are so right, the Spirit moves us when we worship. We may ask for stuff, but the Persons of God know better what we need. We may ask for something and get a no, but years later look back and see something better we recieved. "For God has plans to prosper us, not to harm us." Sorry don't know chapter our verse. Keep up the blogging. You inspire me.

    Blessings,
    Amanda

This is very true as this morning I found myself being very stressed before going to church and not even feeling like going and then once I got there was very blessed by being in the presence of God and all of my stress melted away as well as me taking away a good word from the Lord! Yay! :o) I hope that you were blessed and a blessing to others by playing you guitar unto the Lord this morning and that you have been doing well! :o) Love the new blog layout!
