***UPDATE ON HANG UP WITH MUM***

Thank you all for such an encouraging response to my previous post.

Warms my heart.

Little JBR was shaking in her boots for a couple of days after the initial hang up.

But, Big JBR did not scold Little JBR like mummie did. Big JBR talked to the little one saying all was okay. Reassuring what happened was not her fault. The guilt she was feeling is false and it is not hers to claim.

Mum was cool with me when I spoke with her Monday night after the initial hangup that morning. Yesterday she was better as today.

But, I am afraid this is not over yet. There will be yet another test. Possibly as soon as this weekend again when church rolls around.

Anyway...,.

Despite what has been happening with me and my mum, I have been exhausted these past few days. Both physically and emotionally. Did not do much of anything. Have not felt like it. Did not really blog.

  4. JBR,
You are doing so good. That was a big step. Sometimes we need to take a breather. Sending you hugs of love and support. (((Little JBR)))

  5. When we set a healthy boundary with an unhealthy person they generally don't like it much. It takes being strong and sticking to that boundary despite our own guilt feelings and self-doubt creeping in to make us crazy.

But I know you know all this and that you will continue to take care of yourself. God is happy for you.

  6. It's been months since I've stopped by. New blog now. Come by when you can. I'm sorry to hear your mum was aggitated with you. I know how hard it can be. But, I'm glad you were able to speak to her soon after & try to work it out. It can be hard standing one's ground but in the long run, you will be better for it. Tammy

  7. JBR, this was such a huge step. I know it is common / normal that I feel very much exhausted afterwards. Pracrice takes a lot of energy. And he, wasnt it worthwhile? Love how you cared for your little angel, little JBR.

  9. JBR, I think you did a great job holding up your boundaries with your mom. I know how hard that can be. And I can relate to feeling exhausted. Here's hoping that you feel rested soon enough.

    Wishing you well,
    NOS

  12. I am glad with how you handled your mom. Sometimes one just has to end a conversation rather than keep on hurting from it. Take care! *hugs* <3

  13. Its good that things turned out the way they have. There's a lesson to be learned from any development in one's growth. You and your mom.

  18. JBR:

I am sure it was hard with your mom, but she may have caught something in that too, that she no doubt really needed to see and hear, and you did it with kindness. You are also right, it will happen again, but each time you stand your ground and answer to you own heart, you will be stronger, and truth is going to win out. You are on a journey here, and regaining ground that you lost years ago. I think you're doing great!!

    Hugs!

    Sonja
