BOO-BUTT (My Bird)

Boo-butt on my finger

I need a break from the challenges of my journey.

Briefly take me away from the struggles of my life.

So, I decided to post on something sweet.

Some of you may have remembered I got a new parakeet in June see post
HERE.

Here is an update:

At the time was not too sure what the sex of the bird was. "He" was purchased at a very young age. Hard to tell on the outside what they will be until a few months old. It is safe to say the bird is a he.

I have called the bird many names since I got him. "Boobird," "Boohead," "Boo," "Boofy," "Your Boo-ness," "Boo-gee," "Boo-bee," "Buttlett," "Hey-you," "Yo"..........but "Boo-butt" seemed to lovingly stick.

He now goes on my finger and stays with me. Still a bit jittery. He has not come out on his own yet. He still finds his cage a safety zone. Which I am sure WE all can relate to our safety zones. In time though......
Boo-butt with my Esteban guitar

He has a sweet disposition about himself.

He even chirps to music.

My music as well.

At least he is not a critic...... or is he????

  1. You know what?!!! He looks just like the bird I had a year back. Sadly that guy lost his partner and didn't live too. But your Boo-butt just reminded me of some BEAUTIFUL times I've had with my little guy happily perched on my finger and nibbling away on my skin. :) I loved the feel of it's beak and tongue. So cute!

  4. JBR, he is beautiful! And you know what? I had exactly the same one as a kid. So many sweet memories. Then one day, when he got already old, I did reach into the cage he came out climbing on my arm all the way up to my neck. He would press himself on my neck that till today I can recall his little heartbeat. And then I felt him to go away. I took him into my hands and he was gone, his little heart not beating anymore. It stayed with me and I'm happy that I could be there for him when he passed. I did love this little bird so much. I still do ... I wish to get one again, my son is asking for one too. But with our travels we have no one to take care of him while being away so it will have to wait but I'm planning on getting one one day again :-) Sorry for this long comment, your sweet birdy brought so many memories ... hugs!!

  5. He is precious. I had a lovebird for 13 years ended up she was a girl, she layed an egg. I am sure that Boo-butt brings you pleasure. It's nice to have a pet.

  6. a twin to my Beezle (short for Beezlebub - he was a little devil that escaped from his cage more than once). Beezle calls my dachshund over by crying "Cheerie Cheerie" and my dog will come from whereever to entertain Beezle. Birds have a special personality that comes through loud and clear if you listen close enough. Your Boo-butt is a handsome little fellow, and looks quite calm!

that make you grin and take you aback
    with evidence of His crazy-about-you-ness!
Lord, show her afresh that you're FOR her!

  10. So sweet...looks just like my Ms Birdy...my daughter birdset for me while I was away visiting my son and she got attach so I let Ms Birdy stay with her...she has tamed her very well...the way I was told to tell the sex is by the color of the nose area just above the beak...if it is light as your little birds is then it is female...the darker is a male...so according to that I would say your little birdy is a girl...but,I am certainly no expert on the subject...he or she is adorable and thanks so much for sharing her with us...have a blessed week...Shelley

  11. Hello my sister in Christ,

Animals are lovely aren't that. They have a place in heaven. There are many scriptures that support that, but I will not share them here that is not what this is about. I want to tell you about my dog Conan (yes, like Conan O'Brien). Today I took him for a walk in the dog park. Yes, where I live there is an actual dog park where dogs socialize, walk around, and play. It's Conan's simplicty that makes me love him. He knows when we are pulling up to the dog park. He loves being greeted by the other dogs. And he loves walking the trails. And for him that made his whole day! It's like the lilies of the field that don't worry. Why can't we be more like them?

    Hugs with blessings,
    Amanda
