Even though I have battled depression and sadness most my life, some days are worse than others. Valentine's Day did not help yesterday at all. When someone is struggling with low self-worth and acceptance as I am, to have this holiday roll around can be extremely difficult. Seeing some of the women at my workplace receive flowers from their husbands or boyfriends can be hard to watch and smile and say, "oh how lovey." "He must really love you?" And sure there are those who have been married a long time and their husbands do not even think to send a card to their wives. I am sure that stings terribly as well.
Although I continue to grow in strength with who I am in Christ, it still cuts very deep knowing I really do not have "that someone" to love me.

Ah sweetie...this reminds me of Candy Grams you used to get in high school. The most popular people get the most. It can be like a popularity contest. Well, what I did was by myself 6 candy grams and everyone thought I was cool. LOL....just thought a good laugh might help cheer you up.

I think I know how you feel. Valentine's Day sucks. I think it's meant to make people feel bad about themselves. I'm sorry things were so hard yesterday.

You do have a special someone who loves you more than anything else for He gave up His life just for you! If you were the only person here on earth He still would have given up His throne to come here to die for you! You are dearly loved and very, very precious to Him. No, you cannot see Him right now but He is your knight in shining armour and He will never ever let you down.
The only true love is His love for all other love fails. There are holes in it and it will hurt you for that is human love and we are failures. God, He loves with agape love and this is true, pure never ending love.
Pooh on flowers and chocolate for that is just things!

Oh my goosh, I felt the exact same way yesterday. It's a really hard holiday for me too.. but esp. this year. It's been a really roungh week. One of those that 'almost' maskes me just want to go HOME!! If I still had one back in Nebraska.
