RENTING SPACE IN MY HEAD

Assertiveness does NOT come easy for me. As a landlord to my own thinking/belief system, facing and throwing out some disruptive and very damaging tenants that have rented space way too long inside my head is definitely a scary challenge. Mr. Irrational Fear, Mr. and Mrs. Not Worthy, and especially The Shame Family are not always willing to go quietly when confronted.

  2. JBR I know to well about Renting Space in my head. But there is hope. There can be triumphs, struggles, joy, and pain woven throughout the rent process. You can capture the essence of your own human experience with what goes on in your mind. JBR you have your own rites of passage to freedom. And you're doing it. I'm proud of you. God Bless.

  3. I think I know that family too! They are tenants of my own as well. I noticed I am seeing them less and less, especially when I consciously notice they are there and take the effort to throw them out. Assertiveness doesn't come easy for me either. Thanks for being real...may God shower His blessings on you!

  6. JBR,
I can relate! Some folks make a lot of "noise" when they are evicted! Still, loud or not, out they must go. Past all the "head noise" and distractions God has us tucked very closely to his side though and it helps to remember this when we are going through trials. God bless you, my friend.

  7. What an awesome way to look at it, JBR.
    Pure awesomeness!
Kick them on out.....send them packing!
    They'll pitch a fit but don't let
    them pitch a tent:)
    Love you and your journey.
    Blessings on both,
    Jen

  9. We all have these thoughts. You are not alone. The way to over come these negative thoughts is through God's Word. When you fear, God says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deut. 31:6. God's word has the solution for all our problems. We simply have to read, believe and pray that through God's strength, grace and mercy we will defeat the battle that rages in our mind. keep the faith my friend. I am pulling for you. Love you!

  10. I hear ya! I have those same lousy tenants. I think we need to evict them. Your posts are so refreshingly honest-and real! I can almost always relate.
