BLAH

Since last week I have been fighting returning painful menopause symptoms of a burning sensation in my face and upper extremities. Along with a sinus headache. Zapping the ever living strength out of me.

Here is a prayer we all can use:

"Lord, I thank you for the time I have available to me when I am feeling lousy which otherwise I would be using differently. Give me fresh hope, new vision, a knowledge of your great love for me, and a real awareness that you will heal me in Your own way and time. Show me everything which I am able to do today to help my body to become well again. If that means absolute rest, grant me patience to fulfill this task. I need Your strength to carry me through this phase of my life. Thank you that I am never alone, and please grant me Your calm, grace and gentleness with myself at this time. Amen." - Anonymous

  1. Oh JBR, I know all about dealing with menopausal symptoms...UGH! I am so sorry! In response to the prayer, just the fact that the Lord presented you with such words makes me think he has granted you permission to crawl into bed and take advantage of the time to rest and take good care of yourself!
    Enjoy your hibernation...

  4. What a wonderful prayer and so applicable to my own experience this past week fighting off the flu. I became very sick and could not leave not my apartment for several days, leaving me feeling gross and lazy, especially given how beautiful the weather was. Thank you for the reminder that being sick does provide opportunities to improve our inner selves as we work to restore our physical health.

I've heard that menopause can be pretty brutal. I hope that your menopause symptoms subside soon. Your strength continues to inspire me. Thank you.

  5. My friend just sent me a little note today about how her children are sick and very dependent on her. She reminded me that she doesn't want them to be sick but enjoys the time she gets to snuggle and meet their needs. She imagined that our Father feels the same way. Trusting He will take care of you and meet your every need as you enjoy His presence. Sending love and prayers to you :)

  6. Beautiful prayer. I like the "Show me what to do to make my body well." There are times God has shown me the solution to my pain. I whispered a prayer for God to give you relief.
