RUINED FOR CHRIST

I read just recently that when we carry our pains from yesterday further than we should, we end up ruining our today's. But, that is not the end. There is more. If we then end up ruining our today then our tomorrows will also be ruined.

The only thing I want ruined in my life these days is that "I am ruined for Christ." I tried finding a good definition on this term that is making its way around the Christian scene, but could not.

I have come to the conclusion that we each have our own definition to this term. I could say in my case it is the exhilaration one feels when nothing matters and you are so on fire for the Lord and His Presence that "self dies" and "surrender" takes over. Following Christ becomes the forefront.

Any out there please feel free to share your experiences or thoughts and help put words to this phenomena . . .

  1. JBR I must admit I haven't heard this term before. What I understand you saying it is something very deep and personal you're experiencing with God that no man can touch? Correct? God Bless.

  5. I am not sure all that those words encompass, but God can come and mess up my life whenever He wants too. I want to be dead to myself and alive in Him!!

  6. Hmmm . . . I've not heard this term either. I think you've got it though. I see it as total surrender to Christ, and also a death of all my earthly ideas of who I should be and want to be, and instead an embracing of who Christ wants me to be. Meaning, my old self is "ruined." Anyway, just my take on it.

  7. This is my first time hearing this term. I love how you speak of totally surrender. That is when our pain becomes joy. I feel like sometimes I have been crucified for Christ. I guess that is how my mind thinks of the hurt and pain and anguish that I sometimes feel. Good post!

  10. Lol! I get you!! I'm wrecked for Christ! Heidi Baker says it best and her emotions that come through explain how I feel inside. Jesus comes in and I am undone for Him. I don't remember her exact words but they are something like snockered.

Jesus, He undoes me and I totally love it.

    Blessings,

  11. Love this; I haven't heard of this term either but total surrender is good! It's a deep desire Jesus has placed in my heart to experience Him and want more, because He has taken me to a place that I can't return from...I surrender! :)

    Blessings and joy JBR!

  12. Your first para is good advice. It's hard to get others to learn this without taking the painful path first.

    God Bless you.

  13. Pains, troubles, difficulties, problems, worries ...

Whenever we ask God for more Faith He does not wave a magic wand and gives us more Faith. He allows such situations to happen in our lives to help us increase our Faith and to trust in Him more.

    God bless you.

  14. don't know about the term, but i do know that i cannot build a house without a solid foundation, and holding on to our pain and to yesterday, creates a flawed foundation...
