“You know all that sympathy that you feel for an abused child who suffers without a good mom or dad to love and care for them? Well, they don’t stay children forever. No one magically becomes an adult the day they turn eighteen. Some people grow up sooner, many grow up later. Some never really do. But just remember that some people in this world are older versions of those same kids we cry for.” Ashly Lorenza
What a powerful quote. These words hold truth. I sure can contest to that!
I will add....
There is hope! Our Heavenly Daddy will heal those painful wounds.
But there is a catch....
We have to let Him!
Amen.
ReplyDeleteHi JBR,
ReplyDeleteIn Christ, there is always hope. How awesome is that? Thank you for sharing and may God bless you
That is an amazing quote - and I absolutely agree with it. Your comment, "We have to let Him!" ... so powerful, and so true. I absolutely connected with this post.
ReplyDeleteThat quote offers an amazing perspective! God is so able when we allow Him!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great quote, and there is so much truth in your post too.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely something for people to remember-- to be compassionate and supportive of all abuse survivors, regardless of their age, gender, orientation, religion, race, anything.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your continued support, JBR. It means so much to me.
Be well,
NOS
That's a good quote. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteHi hon,
ReplyDeleteOpening up to Father is easy, it is the letting go and trusting Him that is hard, but the wonderful thing is that as soon as you do it, He is right there to catch you and help you.

oh that's so true. there are many 'children' hidden in the sea of grown-ups we pass each day... me? i just hit 21 *grin* love and hugs!
ReplyDeleteGreat point!
ReplyDeletePain has an amazingly effective way
ReplyDeleteof helping us to the solution
if we just don't numb it down.
That, I think, is the hard part.
Sometimes I ache over all the pain in this old world
and then I have to remember the cross,
remember how redemptive His heart
and how fierce His love
and how sweet and thorough His comfort.
Oh Lord for grace to have compassion
and faith.

This is very true - the teenagers that some older people sneer at have broken hearts. The drug addicts and prostitutes have broken hearts.
