DON'T PUT GOD IN A BOX

The Lord revealed to me the other night in a most precarious way. Since I promised to be real on my blog, I will be totally honest with you....I was on the toliet when He revealed to my Spirit that I have been trying to put Him in a box. My Spirit was notified of this very clearly as I sat there. "I have been trying to put God in a box." Then my Spirit was quicken to the words, "He wants to do far and better things that I am limiting Him to do in a box." Wow!

So, in my journey, I am not only trusting God, but also know that God does not set a time table nor have a box to live in. He is very patient with us who are in recovery and who are truly trying to get well. Not saying that it is NOT difficult, which as we all know who struggle, how down-right painful recovery can be! But, at the same time, hard as it is to believe for some (I included), God is always, always, always with us !!! Quick fixes are hard to come by and how we may perceive how He wants to heal and bless us. God probably would be able to surprise us more with His answers of love, if we did not have Him in a box all the time.

  2. You know, plain, refreshing, radical and downright brutal honesty is far better than polished and mealy mouthed platitudes anyday! I hope to make my fortune as a writer with such honesty. Being honest about a situation is the first step to getting honest answers. We have a saying where I come from 'honest to God!' said when someone says something that seems outlandish or unbelievable, and I think we need to be completely honest with Him in prayer, even if we are angry, hateful and want to swear at Him too! Don't swear at Him, He's probably heard it all before anyway, but be honest. If you can't be honest with your Creator, just who can you be honest with?

The church puts God in a box, and greater society assumes He is cuddly or a reflection of the priest or reverend, when He is beyond understanding. Yet, He came literally 'down to earth' in more ways than one to listen to us and walk among us. He became one of us to show us He loved us.

  3. Well said, Grace. We can't even imagine what our God is capable of. His power can't be bound or limited by our thoughts.

  5. Wonderfully said Grace, God is full of surprises and completely unpredictable at times. He does not think the way we think and His ways are completely different to ours. By the way, He speaks to me a lot while I am on the loo too.
    God bless

  7. How true!! Father is outside of time and we only know of Him what He reveals to us. His patience goes on and on and His love never ends. How cool He revealed this to you while you were in the process of relieving your body of waste. :) I do believe there is even a deeper meaning here too.
    Blessings dear one.

  8. God tells us that his thoughts are higher than our thoughts and his ways are above our ways, so it is not possible to completely comprehend all that He is!
There's another scripture that says we search the unsearchable in reference to learning about Christ...I believe that means although we can and must learn of him...we can never fully understand Him...not on this side of heaven anyways!
    God bless~ Lisa

  9. So so true, JBR! I have many assumptions about God and I'm sure that many of them are off the mark.

  10. Hi JBR! That is so funny that you say that because I connect with God on the toilet too, actually the bathroom is our chill spot! Ha!
And that is so true! I always tell people God is so patient and want us to shine like gold with no imperfections. I may think I put God in a box myself!
    Hugs JBR ♥

  11. spot on girl. I have 2 kids who are very different and I relate to them based on their personalities. God is our father and He is REAL! He knows us, our strengths and weaknesses, our hurts and pain and He just loves us the way we are. He will perfect everything He has started. The how and the when is up to Him.
