HUG A BIBLE

Lately I am finding so much comfort in just hugging my Bible. To the point that I have actually fallen asleep with hugging it. When I draw the Word to me, it is the closest to having God so very near to me when I hurt so bad.

  1. I did the same thing through the scariest, darkest time in my life. It was before I really knew the Word, but I knew it was God's Word and that was comforting.

    I totally understand.

    Love,
    Beth

  6. That's a great reminder too that as you cling or hold on to His Word, He is the One Who actually has a hold on you for He loves you deeply! God bless JBR!

  7. I understand this! Sometimes the presence of The Word is more powerful for me than what my jumbled mind can understand from the actual words. Love and peace JBR xx

  9. It makes me glad that you are not pondering in thoughtfulness to understand the bible.

For the bible--as a sunset, the ocean, or the murmur of the night wind in the trees--cannot be understood by the brain. But simply "hold on to it", my dear.

In that will one day be your answer.

  10. I do not read the bible but when I lost a child I took comfort in a teddy bear she had. This was because sometimes we need the personal and phsical reminder that they were and are still here. You may somedays need to feel god as well as read of and understand him.

When I was going through some situations in my life, I would go to sleep hugging my bible. I have done it ever since.

  16. This is a very powerful and heartfelt paragraph. I'm so happy the Bible gives you comfort. I enjoy mine very much too, and keep it on the nightstand.

I like to keep the TBN station on. I've been watching all the great preacher shows and Praise the Lord. They quote the Bible alot. I sometimes go to sleep with it on, and it comforts me. It's much better than some of the crap and bad news on tv, and uplifts you.
    God Bless and Take Care.l
