Will be receiving my copy of the book “Courage to Heal” within a few days. Do not know if I will read it right away or not. May not be ready just yet and reading is not one of my favorite past times. But, I would like to have the book on hand anyway. Will be praying ahead of time for the proper leading to approach the contents within the pages.

I was wondering if you would be so kind as to pointing me in the direction of a post that might explain anything about your journey... what you have survived and now what you must overcome. If not, that is fine and I will just follow from when I signed on forward. My healing began for me when I started talking. I haven't shut up since then and I don't plan to in the future. :)
ReplyDeleteMay God's blessing continue to heal you. He will guide you on when your ready to read. Hugs.

Tammy, I had to repost your comment as there was a glich with this post and I had to republish it. Anyway, appreciate your comment and your desire to want to find out a bit more about me.
ReplyDeletePAIN IN THE CHANGE pretty much summarizes my upbringing.
RECOVERING FROM RECOVERY where I admit about the incest with my brother.
I ♥ you JBR.
ReplyDeleteYou do have such Courage.
♥
I've heard the book is very good. I took it out from the library, but it was too intense at the time.
ReplyDeleteYou know, when God reveals that time for you in your life, to pick up the book and read it, you will know. I am glad that you have it to read and in time, when you are ready it will help you to heal.
ReplyDeleteUntil that time, we will continue to lift you up in our prayers and keep you in our heart! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments you left for me on my blog! They mean the world to me.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
Read this at your own pace. There is a lot of useful info. Did you order the 20th anniversary edition?
ReplyDeleteAppreciate all of your comments and encouragement.♥ WW, thanks for your insights into what to expect.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this one.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and prayers, andrea
Sweetie this is a good read. I did not read cover to cover but bite by bite. as I was able. It is times when a page is all you might do in a day or another two chapters. Read what is relevant at the moment
ReplyDeleteI don't know this book, but I'm a huge reader of self help and recovery books in general. I agree with the comments to read it in chapters, putting it down when it is too intense.
ReplyDeleteYou are making progress, I read it your writing. Sometimes that is hard for us to see day in and day out about ourselves.
I tried to post earlier some special words I had for you but the computer went crazy and all was lost. I will try again later. Praying for you to have courage and I will post more later. But would it be possible for you to tell me your first name or a nic name we can call you.
ReplyDeleteLove and Blessings headed your way!
Thanks for your comments, Lou and Andrea.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I go by JBR. :) Thanks for the prayers.
Donetta thank you for sharing on the book.
That looks like a good read. You have a lot of courage to progress through what you have. I hope that book brings you much insight when you do read it! Take care!
ReplyDeleteI hope this book is another little step in your healing process. I hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Getting a copy is the first step of courage you had shown toward healing. God bless.
ReplyDeleteAsking God to help you as you turn each page of that book sweetie.
ReplyDeleteJBR- it's good to have books like this around for just the right moment. ~rick

Whatever courage I have, is from God, that is all I can say!
i don't know the book. i hope it helps you. i really really do!
ReplyDeleteJBR you take your time with reading this book. I've never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteI am so thrilled for you to receive this book! I've had mine for a few months now and I am just at the end of the first chapter. Of course, I'm doing the workbook along with it. It's not one you can rush through. I thought I could sit down, read it, and apply it to myself like any other self-help book, but as you can read in my blog, it's not that simple. But it's a good challenge and one I am thankful for receiving. I'm excited for you and I'm here anytime you need support! {{{HUGS}}} ~Rhonda
ReplyDeleteI have and have read most of that book, but it was over a year ago since I have opened it. I found quite a few parts helpful, but didn't really take much from it. It could have been because I wasn't ready to take anything from it though. My counselor recommended me to a different book "On the Threshhold of Hope" by Diane Langberg and I can honestly say that book is amazing. I just finished it last night after getting it in February. I could only do a little at a time, but now that I've finished I know I need to go back and read it over.
