TRUST IS LOVE

Sheila Walsh was a guest last Friday on "Life Today." They repeated the same broadcast of her from last Monday's program. When I first heard it on Monday, I remembered something she said right at the beginning about God's love and trusting Him that got me to thinking. As I struggle big in this area.

Throughout the week I kept on remembering what she said and kind of pushed it out of my mind, as I really did not want to go there. Then hearing again on Friday the same program, and feeling a check in my Spirit to blog about it. I really did not want to. So, I did not.

But, here I am, finally obeying and blogging about it. I have no clue why? Maybe someone else needs to read these words also. I do not know. Only the Spirit knows.

Even though I am not there yet, I pray that one day I will be able to do and feel what she states below:

No, I think it is God's passionate pursuit of who we really are. I used to think--if you had asked me even last year, what do you think is the greatest gift you could give God? I would say to love Him. Today, I would say to trust Him because I think trusting God is what love looks like. I can tell God I love Him but do I trust Him with my life? Like today, I'm 53 years old, gave my life to Christ when I was 12, and I could sit here tonight and tell you, I trust God now. I don't even need to know the plan. You don't need to tell me why we're going there but if that's where you're going, I'm coming with you.

  1. I saw the same broadcast. (only once tho) :o) I am 53 years old also. I gave my life to Christ when I was 42. I'm trusting Him more and more . I think Sheila is right. Trusting God is the what He wants and it is the greatest gift ... and its harder than loving.

  4. God's guidance speaks gently within every heart, for every soul is a part of the One. Your inner guidance speaks to you with its own uniqueness.

  5. That is the biggest trust if you don't even need to know the plan.

  6. JBR,
I heard her speak about this on another program. Pretty powerful, but true words. It takes time sweetie. I think He understands how hard it is for us to trust when we have been wounded. He made us so He is so patient. He always just nudges me gently into trusting a little at a time.

  8. Blessings JBR...I'm glad that you obeyed as the spirit prompted you. I think all of this has to do with Sheila's new book,"Beautiful Things Happen, When a Woman Trusts God". Sheila Walsh has experienced many situations in her life experiences (like abuse that others mention and find it hard to trust). That is understandable! Anyone who has been wounded in a situation that they trusted, would find this hard to do! Guess we need to read her book. Heart2Heart blog (Kat)
is doing a study on this! Seems to me, trust and love go hand in hand. Many times, I feel we say we love and do not realize all that love encompasses!

Much to ponder! Thanks for sharing! Maybe I need to go listen to that program of Life's Today!
