PRAISE YOU IN THE STORM

"God cares deeply and shares in my sorrows. God sees my trouble and knows about the anguish of my soul." Psalm 31:7

Today I sat down and actually counted how many trying issues I am going through simultaneously in my life. Five. If one was not bad enough already. Pretty much all of them have been going on for quite some time without, in my mind's eye, seeing a breakthrough as of yet.

As turbelent as our storms we face can be, praising God in the midst of them can be hard. Remembering you are not praising God for the storm, but for who He is as He gets you through the storm.

"Praise You In This Storm"

I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

[Chorus:]
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You

But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

[Chorus]

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

  4. I sang this song like crazy about a year after my neck injury...four more years and still singing it. Holding out hope that my miracle may be just around the corner...waiting on the perfect timing of the Perfect One. Keep holding on. I know God will see us through...

  6. Hi JBR,
Beautiful song. How lovely that we can all look to our wonderful God for help in our storms, and pray for one another through our one mediator Jesus.
