The other day, the Holy Spirit impressed it upon my heart to look through some old pictures of myself with past parakeets I owned. The one I share here I had no idea I had. I remember seeing a few other pictures of me with a parakeet when I was in my late teens.
Although, I have seen this picture before, it is not until now I realized there was a parakeet in the picutre. The quality of the picture is not the greatest. So, I over looked the little green parakeet on my finger. Until now. This is the youngest picture I have of myself with a parakeet. I will say I am about 8 or 9.
Another name, which is the official name of a parakeet is Budgerigar or Budgie. Originating from Australia.
I share all this, as I am still processing what was discussed and discovered in therapy last Thursday. How I have always had a budgie in my life up to this day. And my therapist brought to mind, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, that God was in my little friends while I was going through the most traumatic things in my life. Comforting me.
I think since I never really had a stuffed Teddy Bear to hug growing up, My Heavenly Daddy gave me a "live" budgie to cry to, talk with as I shared my pain.
and has now come when the true worshipers will worship
the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the
kind of worshipers the Father seeks." - John 4:23
My Heavenly Daddy is healing
me from the inside out.
Transparency is Real.
Many times painful.
Daddy let me be secure in You only!

Love this picture! God is so good to always be taking care of us...even when we don't realize it. He gives us just what we need when we need it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings...Chelle
The picture is precious! God does give is comfort through our little friends, as a blessing of love. Even though they may not understand us, we still feel like they are listening. I had a beanie baby, a little teddy bear cat, I called Melissa. She was my best friend. I had her since first grade and still have her all messed up. I can't seem to throw her away. She helped me when I was afraid at night and the loneliness I endured of friendship. We may never be content until we see our Daddy's beautiful face. Blessings and hugs JBR <3
ReplyDeleteGod is good to give you a small picture of His love and care in the form of little birds. As I commented on your last post, I am feeding a little flock of goldfinches out my sunroom window. Whenever I see indications in nature of God's infinite care and beautiful creativity I stand in awe of Him. So glad you're back.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful reminder of how much He loves you~
ReplyDeleteFor your young mind to process, it's amazing how He reminds you now of His presence this whole time, now that you are able to understand more and truly see He is indeed faithful.Your pic is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteJBR lovely picture of you and your birdie. God's plan for your life has been in the making since the day you were conceived! He knew and ordered your steps. Sure many time you've gone out of step. But that's the amazing thing about his love, he brings you back in line. God Bless.

ReplyDeleteVery sweet picture of yours. Thanks for sharing this:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet pic of you as a child...I am sure that going through old pics can be challenging. I love how God paces us on this journey and knows just the right time to bring us the next piece of the puzzle. I especially love how He is able to reveal to us that He was always there with us even in situations we could never understand. Many blessings Grace! Shana

It always a blessing to go back and see photos of when we was small kids. I know I remember all those times me and my sister would play out doors. Those are precious memories and no one can steal them from us.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about birds. I loved birds as a little child. Later in life, they would be a reminder of God's love and protection for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture.
I love the picture, Grace! The wonderful thing about animals is that we are free to love them unconditionally and without emotional barriers. At least, it seems this way to me. Plus, we can be completely ourselves around them - not a small thing for many of us.
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers!
Such a sweet picture of you and your little bird. That's interesting how you took comfort in owning the little birds and how they made you happy. Pets bring us a lot of joy.
ReplyDeleteLove the smile on your face!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful how God gives us things to comfort us.
ReplyDeleteHi JBR,
ReplyDeleteI agree absolutely that this was Gods way of comforting you. I have been talking with friends recently about this and when I went to visit an elderly lady recently who is a widow and has no children or relatives, she told me that she had been sat on a bench in the garden thinking about her late husband of sixty years and the times they spent together. She told me that she started to cry. Suddenly a collared dove came and landed on the bench next to her and jumped onto her lap. I know this was God comforting her, and I believe she does too.
JBR,
ReplyDeleteGod's comfort is amazing!
Blessings,
Ken
